Somehow I have always been a sucker for fake food. Asian restaurants are probably to blame, with their plastic noodle soups. I recently also discovered that you can buy those fake soups as well as fake sushi on Clement Street in San Francisco but it's pretty expensive. Thank goodness you can also find it handmade on etsy! Here is but a meagre list:
Check out the doll house size chocolate frosted cake (I don't think I will ever get into doll houses, at least not until I can get the senior citizen discount at Ross, but something in me totally digs miniature worlds. Flea circuses also rock!) The woman also makes a miniature pepper steak which has to be just about the weirdest cool thing in the world....

My dad worked at a restaurant where their dessert displays were made out of soap. Kinda weird.
I saw a documentary once on food photography and they showed that ice cream in commercials is usually made of lard. Put me off of ice cream for a while...
